GENDER ISSUES FACED BY GIRLS IN SCHOOL, A QUEST FOR GENDER LEARNING EQUALITY

PREFACE TO EXPERIMENT

Research is counting the numbers of firewood and meats before cooking in the kitchen.
Experiment is sorting the wet wood from the dry ones by weight.
Social experience is when the cooker starts sweating, and yet will not leave the heat in the kitchen..simply because it's a tenancy house with a lot of hungry cats.

GIRL-CHILD DISCRIMINATION AT CORE RURAL COMMUNITIES IN LAGOS STATE.
--------------------------------------------
It was a simple random sampling (interviews) methodology, where the 288 respondents captured were between the ages of 9 to 25 years Old and still in school, or apprenticeship.
Below were the frequency to the parameters that made most of these girls decide whether to shy away from school or stay in school:
1.1 83% of the respondents (age 9 - 25 years old) and mainly females, still in school or learning a trade, informed that Government should reduce the violence they face in school, if they want more girls to stay back in classrooms. The latter was even buttressed when 96% of the respondents confirmed that they were either being teased by boys and lack of proper facilities on ground to make them comfortable while menstruating in school.
1.2 85% of the respondents (age 9 -16 years) agreed orally that they would tell someone if they were faced with SEXUAL ABUSE outside and within home. where roughly 80% of the respondents chose to either report the incident in a police station or Humanity support outreaches and about 20% to a combination of PARENT, TEACHER OR CLOSE FAMILY FRIEND.
1.3  It was enunciated by 72% of the sampled respondents (age group exceeding 16 years) that, the key benefit of Girl child education in the community gives rise to Women empowerment.
SCHOOL CHILDREN ENLIGHTENED ON THE RIGHT FOR GIRL CHILD TO LEARN IN LAGOS-NIGERIA, DURING AN ADVOCACY SESSION WITH THE CHILDREN.

2.0 RECOMMENDATIONS

2.1 Schools especially public and co-educational system must provide with a counselor, staff nurse and separate facility for girls in order to feel comfortable during their menstruation period, hence it influences their staying back in school
2.2 Schools that have large numbers of students should provide training on alternative means to end violence in school, as it as been seen, most of these students clash with one another at the glimpse of chance when they are not supervised.
SUPERVISION AND ENLIGHTENMENT KEY HERE.
2.3 The Police station and human right support outreach Should be visible enough to teenager predicament. Let them speak out their minds. Parent should be wary too as 2 in 3 girls are face with sexual Abuse, while is 1 in 3 faced by boys (According to a national Survey).
 POLICE IS YOUR FRIEND
2.4 The GIRL-CHILD Education can improve the economy of a nation. How? well economy boom has the household contribution as a sub-set. THE household contribution is the combination of individual empowerment and outputs.
WOMEN EMPOWERMENT is key to GDP.

"INFLUENCERS" OF GIRL CHILD EDUCATION AS WELL AS CHILDREN EDUCATION RECEIVING TRAINING BY THE RESEARCHER, Adewumi Samuel.

3.0 SOCIAL EXPERIENCE

The Above parameters are the key drivers (are very stringent) to Gender violence, Teenage pregnancy, child marriage and gender based discrimination. This also align with Amdiya Abdul Latiff researched problems on Disadvantaged girls and sanitary pads n Ghana.
As well as Edith Enow Nchong constructive advocacy to combat teenage pregnancy and child marriage in Cameroon.
We hope the "INFLUENCERS" OF TEENAGERS AND GIRLS EDUCATION will find this social research very useful.
